Built in

Fixed to the wall or floor, so the piece becomes part of the room.

• Suits full-height and wall-to-wall storage
• Can close awkward gaps and follow uneven walls
• Best when the arrangement is unlikely to change

Freestanding

A complete piece that stands on its own.

• Suits tables, consoles, benches, shelving and cabinets
• The room can be rearranged around it
• Often the simplest to deliver and install

Movable

Built to be repositioned, or to come with you when you move.

• Useful in rented homes and rooms that change use
• The furniture stays yours rather than becoming part of the property
• Still measured precisely to the space
